Jeffrey "VizardJeffhog" McDonell An album fashioned after the music I grew up playing on the piano, in the musical stylings of the games I grew up playing on consoles? How was that even possible, are you a wizard, and will you be making more of these!? Favorite track: IV. What Is Dead May Never Die (Allegro con brio).

Leo M I like classical music. I like chiptunes. I love this album. Each song is powerful and evocative on its own, but the album also works very well as a whole. Favorite track: II. Vestiges of Home (Andante - Adagio).

about

Chip beats meet classical harmony in SONUS ANTIQUITATUM, the newest release by Soleviio. The EP is actually an original, four movement sonata, structured after those typical to the early/mid 19th century. With the exception of omitting most internal repeats, it stays largely true to that form while maintaining the upbeat, driving nature of modern chiptunes. Written for two Game Boys, Sonus Antiquitatum combines two kinds of "old sounds" to make something entirely new.

This album was recorded using two Nintendo Game Boys running LSDJ, synced together via Link Cable. It is free to download by naming a price of $0.00, but donations are very much appreciated!
